Questions about the checker

What does the checker look at?
The GSTIN you bill from against the centre's state, CGST and SGST versus IGST, the client's GSTIN, the SAC code, the invoice number format, e-invoicing for your turnover, and the details CGST Rule 46 requires on every tax invoice.
Why does the centre's state matter so much?
For a workspace licence, the place of supply is where the property is (IGST Act, section 12(3)). So a Pune centre bills from your Maharashtra GSTIN with CGST and SGST, even when the client's head office is in Bengaluru.
Is this legal advice?
No. It is a checklist based on our GST guide, reviewed by Chartered Accountants, with the rules as they stood on 7 October 2026. For your own situation, speak to your CA.
Do you store the GSTINs I enter?
No. The checks run in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us.
